Manchester Secondary PRU has 5 sites across the City and 2 college sites where our employees work. All our employees are employed by the school and may be asked to work at any site, at the discretion of the Headteacher.  However, in the adverts below the initial base has been identified where possible.

We provide full time education for pupils between 11-16 who are permanently excluded or are otherwise unable to access a mainstream curriculum for a period of time. Our aim is to match provision closely to the needs of individual children and young people referred to the PRU by schools, academies or the local authority. We see the needs of all our pupils as centring on their capacity to learn and make progress and seek to address the barriers to success that they face.

We are currently looking to appoint to the following roles:

 

Home School Liaison Officer (Assistant Attendance Officer)

Grade 5, TTO £23,116 - £26,191 - 35 hours per week, Fixed term for 1 year in the first instance

 

Do you have good problem-solving skills to enable you to identify attendance barriers, are you able to analyse data, and create tailored evidence-based strategies to enhance attendance rates?

Do you have knowledge of attendance policies and regulations. Are you able to manage multiple complex prioritities under pressure?

We are looking to looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of School Attendance Assistant within the Pastoral Team.

The person we are looking for will:

  • have a high level of emotional intelligence
  • be able to manage multiple complex priorities under pressure
  • be able to build and maintain good relationships with pupils, parents and carers, staff, schools and  educational and safeguarding professionals 
  • be able to manage their own time and work to deadlines
  • have experience of handling sensitive and confidential material
  • understand and support the schools policies and ethos
  • have a thorough understanding of safeguarding and its application and implementation
  • have good ICT skills (Familiarity with MS Office is essential. Knowledge of SIMS  and CPOMS is desirable)
  • be able to work in a team and have a good sense of humour

Manchester Secondary PRU provides full time education for pupils between 11-16 who are permanently excluded, at risk of permanent exclusion or are otherwise unable to access a mainstream curriculum. Our aim is to match provision closely to the needs of individual children and young people referred to the PRU by schools, academies or the local authority. We see the needs of all our pupils as centring on their capacity to learn and make progress and seek to address the barriers to success that they face. We have provision in 5 centres across the city and commission further placements with Alternative Providers in a wide variety of settings.

All staff at the PRU are expected to be flexible about where in Manchester they are based and may be asked to work at any of our centres across the city (initially the base is likely to be in Chorlton).
