Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
Careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) is a key part of the support we provide at Manchester Secondary PRU. High-quality careers provision is embedded within our curriculum and plays a central role in preparing young people for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences they will encounter as they move through their time with us, into post-16 destinations and beyond.
As a provision, we recognise that our role is often one of intervention and transition. For many pupils, their journey with us is time-limited and it is therefore essential that careers education is focused, responsive and impactful, equipping them quickly with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed decisions about their future.
As pathways for young people become increasingly varied and complex, we ensure that all pupils are supported to understand their options and next steps. While our careers programme is clearly structured, we recognise that effective careers education extends beyond discrete sessions. All staff take opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom, to actively promote and support CEIAG.
